Welcome
Welcome to Garrettson's Siberian Huskies web site. We are a small hobby breeder who enjoys the Husky breed.
Our goal is to raise and breed quality companions. All of our Huskies are born and raised in our home with lots of human contact including children contact (we supervise this). We strive to teach our puppies how to interact with people from birth until they go home. When they are home, it is your job to socialize your puppy. Socialization is a huge part in your puppy's life. If your puppy is not socialized your puppy is not happy.
Huskies are very energetic dogs and they love to run. Your puppy through adulthood needs to be exercised every day. This is not a breed that can be left outside for long periods of time. Siberian Huskies are very social and love to be with their family. Huskies do get bored very easy and will dig right out of their kennel\back yard. If your Husky is not behind a 6' fence that is totally proofed around the bottom and\or top, your Husky will find a way out. Here at Garrettson's Siberian Huskies we have a 6' fenced in our backyard with a concrete perimeter around the bottom.
Please research the Siberian Husky breed. This breed is like no other and they need to be in a home that has lots of time to train them. Huskies are high maintenance puppies from the time they can walk. You can meet a ten year old Husky that still likes to run and pull.
Another point that I like to tell my buyers is that if you have a nice yard with pretty flowers and plush green grass and you want it to stay that way, you may want to consider choosing another dog. It is not that you can't have a nice yard; it is that Huskies like to chew, dig, and play in flower beds. This last spring, we were planting bulbs in our garden, we walked into our house and came back out and Tundra had dug every single bulb up. She watched us plant them and went right back there to see what kind of fun we were having. A good way to prevent digging is to exercise your Husky daily. This will keep their boredom to a minimum.
We just ask that you please read books and research online about Huskies before your family decides that you want to own one. A good book to get you started is "Siberian Huskies for dummies". This book has lots of great information.
When you buy from us you shall NEVER re-home your puppy without first contacting us. We will take your puppy back at no cost to us and re-home him\her in the proper home. We do understand that things come up so no matter if you have had your baby home for two days, two years or even ten. We will always take him/her back.
Please look all around our website as every page has lots of information that our new puppy buyers should know before they choose to buy from us.
